
Chief Nathaniel Idowu, former Chairman of Odu’a Investment Company Limited who served on the board of Odu’a from 1992-1996, is dead.
He died at the age of 76 years in London at the early hours of Saturday 20th February, 2010.
During his tenure as Odu’a chairman, he shared the company’s goal and objectives. He was noted for his concern on those things that would enhance the welfare and prosperity of the people.
Odu’a Group Managing Director, Mr Adebayo Jimoh described the late Chief Nathaniel Idowu as a great philanthropist, a visionary leader, a man that makes us so proud of his courage, strength and deligence to hard work.
The current Chairman of Odu’a Investment Company Ltd, Senator Brimmo Yemi Yusuf described Chief Nathaniel Idowu as an embodiment of love, care and generousity. He noted that Chief Idowu was a leading voice in the quest for the commencement of professional football league in the country.
No doubt, his death is a great loss to Odu’a Investment Company Limited, Oyo State and the Nigeria Nation. We in Odu’a console his family, the Olubadan in council and the Government of Oyo State on the loss of this illustrious son.
